The ten 2016 releases I’m most excited for

A lot of amazing books will be released this year, and these are the 10 I’m most excited for!

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

I absolutely loved Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, and I love Alice in wonderland, so an Alice retelling by Marissa Meyer? Sign me up! I can’t wait!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

One of my most anticipated sequels of 2016. A Court of Thorns and Roses was one of my favourite books of 2015, so I’m super pumped to read this one!

A Gathering of Shadows by Victoria Schwab



Another one of my most anticipated sequels! I didn’t love a Darker Shade of Magic, but I did really like it and this one sounds even more promising. Magical Games? Black London rises again? More Lila? Yes, please!

The Hidden Oracle (the Trials of Apollo #1) by Rick Riordan



“Another Rick Riordan book? Laura, you’ve read 10 of his books already, aren’t you tired of him yet?” NO. Rick Riordan is easily one of my favourite authors, so I’m not going to miss out on this book! Especially because it’s about Apollo angering his dad, turning into a mortal and going to camp half-blood. I’m praying to see Annabeth, Percy and Grover in action in this book!

Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi



Tahereh Mafi is writing a middle grade book, and it’s about a girl named Alice who has to save her father and “in order to find him she’ll have to travel through the mythical, dangerous land of Furthermore, where down can be up, paper is alive, and left can be both right and very, very wrong.” Doesn’t that sound amazing? This book contains almost all of my buzzwords; magic, a weird land, myths, adventure and family.

The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

May 3rd is going to be a very busy day with 3 books coming out! 
Look at how gorgeous this cover is! I spotted in a 2016 new releases list on goodreads and once I read the synopsis I was completely sold. May 3rd cannot come soon enough.

A Torch Against The Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2) by Sabaa Tahir



Another one of my most anticipated sequels! An Ember in the Ashes was one of my favourite books of 2015 so, naturally, the sequel can’t come soon enough.

The Crown (The Selection #5) by Kiera Cass



I recently finished Happily Ever After, the selection novella’s, and it made me realise how much I miss the The Selection world! I can’t wait to dive into it again, even though Eadlyn isn’t my favourite person (read: she is one of the most annoying characters I’ve ever read about).

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

Another book that will be released on May 3rd. Seriously, what is this? Anyway, I loved every book Morgan Matson has written so far, and her the synopsis of The Unexpected Everything sounds great as well so I can’t wait to read this! Preferably over the summer, on the beach with a glass of ice tea.

The Hammer of Thor (Magnus Chase #2) by Rick Riordan

If you saw my review of The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase #1) you might have guessed that this book would be appearing on this list! I loved the characters, and I cannot wait to see what they’ll be getting up to in this book.
