The Book Aesthetics Tag

Hi everyone! When Lia from Lost in a Story tagged me in this tag (is that even proper English? Who knows) (Also, thank you!!!) I was ridiculously excited to do it, since I loved the questions and I adore making aesthetics. Little did I know that this was literally going to take me hours to make… I’m way too picky about what pictures to use and what order to put them in, and of course I couldn’t just pick one answer to each question but ended up making multiple aesthetics for every single prompt. *sigh* Luckily, I ended up really loving each one, and I really hope you will too!

The rules:

💛 Thank whoever nominated you (maybe you’re bitter that you have ANOTHER tag to do on top of the billions you already need to do (#relatable), still though. Someone thought of you. Be thankful. At least pretend to be
💛 Credit the creator of this tag (Michelle! )
💛 There’s no limit of how many aesthetics you can make for a question, but think of your poor readers. Even me, an aesthetics hoe, might get tired after 50 aesthetics (I doubt anyone would make/share that many for this tag I just like to exaggerate \_(ツ)_/¯
💛 Make your OWN aesthetics, please don’t steal them from someone else. Also what’s the fun in that?

Favorite book of the year

acow (1)

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

snow and glass

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

Warcross by Marie Lu

I’ve read a LOT of amazing books this year, but these three are definitely a few of the best! A Crown of Wishes was absolutely enchanting, Girls Made of Snow and Glass has to me my #1 favorite retelling ever, and Warcross kept me at the edge of my seat at all times. Every single one of these books had such amazing world building, incredible characters, and please just read them, okay? Thank you.

Character you relate to a lot

Finley from Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand

I’ve don’t really have a character that I relate to a lot. Sure, I often see certain parts of myself in characters, but it almost never happens that I see a lot of myself in a character. Finley from Some Kind of Happiness came very close though.
Finley deals with anxiety, panic attacks and depressive episodes, and she tries to cope with them by escaping to a fantastical world, and I related to that a lot when I read it. I actually still do. And I just love this book to bits.

A character you look up to

Artemis from Rick Riordan’s books

Reyna from Heroes of Olympus

I’m not even really sure if Artemis counts as a character because she’s a Goddess but let’s just go with it. Artemis and Reyna are both such incredibly badass and strong characters, and I feel like I could learn a lot from them. Also, I would totally join the hunters of Artemis if I lived in the PJO universe.

An underrated gem

Chameleon Moon by RoAnna Sylver

Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza

I love both of these books so so much and I just cannot believe that Empress has such a low rating on Goodreads? It’s so good!
Empress of a Thousand Skies is a Sci-Fi book with a lot of political intrigue and also discusses racism, and Chameleon moon is a hopeful dystopian with the BEST characters.

A character that deserves more love

Samirah from the Magnus Chase series

Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter series

These two characters definitely don’t get the love they deserve. Samirah is so incredibly brave, loyal, smart and I LOVE HER SO MUCH and Neville is so courageous, soft and wants to help everyone and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. They’re the best and I wish a lot more people recognized that.

An underrated OTP

Kiko and Jamie from Starfish by Akemie Dawn Bowman

Whenever I’m reading a book I don’t really care for the romance. Like, sure, it’s fun and it definitely makes me happy, but I’ve never actively shipped characters. With Starfish, however, it was quite different. I did not only like the romance, but I was actually very invested in it, (Spoilers) and when Kiko broke off the relationship because she had to work on herself and he waited for her my heart sang. I love these two together.

I tag Mariam, Olivia, Lucille and Elin

I totally also picked Neville as a character that deserved more love! I really like your aesthetic for Warcross and A Crown of Wishes; two books that I really want to read.

I LOVE YOUR AESTHETICS ❤ I also love you made aesthetics for Samirah – she definitely deserves more love! She’s such a bad-ass I love her. And I love that you used Artemis and Reyna for the character you look up to question! Basically I’m in love with all your answers 😛
