My Favorite Books of 2017

Hi everyone! 2017 has been an absolutely amazing reading year for me. I’ve read so many books, and so many of those were incredibly good, which made it very hard to decide which one’s I was going to put on my favorites list. But luckily I was able to narrow it down to 11 books!

Here they are, in no particular order:

The Reader and The Speaker by Traci Chee – I didn’t have high expectations of these books when I picked up The Reader, but it completely blew me away. And after reading the second book I can definitely say that The Sea of Ink and Gold series is probably my favorite series ever.
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde – This book was so incredibly wonderful. It made me so happy, and I could relate to one of the characters so much, which was an incredible experience.
Warcross by Marie Lu – The thing I loved most about Warcross was definitely the world building. I could picture everything so clearly, and I’ve never been able to do that before. I cannot wait for the second book to be published.

Girl out of Water by Laura Silverman – I adored everything about this book, and it might be one of those contemporaries I pick up every single summer. I can’t wait to read whatever Laura Silverman writes in the future.
A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Choksi – The world building was beyond amazing, and I loved the banter between the two main characters. It was magical, I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this.
Chameleon Moon by RoAnna Sylver – I’ve never read a dystopian which made me happy before, but this one certainly did. The thing I loved most about this were the characters, and I still can’t stop thinking about them. They’re wonderful.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust – I’ve never loved a retelling as much as I loved this one. I honestly don’t have words to tell you how much I loved this one. I just, loved it a whole lot.

Dear Martin by Nic Stone – This book was tiny, but it packed a punch, and it was incredibly well-written. Nic Stone is definitely an auto-buy author for me.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman – I picked this one up on a whim, and I really didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I kind of want to reread it already.
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds – I’ve never read a novel in this format before (verse) but I loved it. It only took me an hour to read, but it was so powerful and I know it’ll stay with me for a long time.

So, those were my favorite books of 2017. Which were yours? Have you made a blog post about them? If so, please send it my way, because I’d love to see it!

CHAMELEON MOON! That’s the only one on this list that I’ve actually read, but I adore it. And some of the others are on my TBR, e.g. The Reader and Radio Silence 🙂
