Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Take Place In Another Country

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

Hi everyone! This week’s TTT topic is ‘books that take place in another country’ and I honestly wasn’t sure how to handle this topic. I’m from The Netherlands, so almost every single book I read is from another country, but I have a feeling that the host wants us to go with books set outside of the US, so that’s what I’ll do. To be totally safe, I’ve gone with books outside of both Europe and North-America.

I’ve divided these books into two different categories: books that I’ve read (and loved), and books that are on my TBR. I also made a little graphic (which was so much work! Wow. How do graphic designers do this) to show you a little clearer where each of these stories takes place.

Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed – Pakistan
A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole – South Africa
Chainbreaker by Tara Sim – India

Want by Cindy Pon – Taipei, Taiwan
The Crystal Ribbon by Celeste Lim – China

A Time to Dance by Padma Venkatraman – India
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi – Ghana
The Infamous Miss Rodriguez by Lydia San Andres – Spanish Caribean

Start Here by various authors – The Phillipines
Rebel Seoul by Axie Oh – Seoul, South-Korea

Lovely post – and great map! I don’t know how graphic designers do it, either, I have no patience for these things haha.
I really need to read Want someday, I only heard great things about this book so far 🙂
