An ARC Haul

DSC09192Hi everyone! I’m writing this right before going to bed while having a pretty bad head ache because I just really want to post something tomorrow. The life of a book blogger isn’t always glamorous. Scratch that, it’s basically never glamorous. But getting a package from a publisher with not-yet-released books definitely does make it feel that way.

Last week I received a package from Macmillan that contained 4 ARCs, which are all titles that I’m incredibly excited. So, I thought I should haul them so I’d get to talk about them and share my excitement a little!DSC09196The first book I saw when I opened the package was The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde, and I’m kind of glad that this is a blog and not a booktube channel because the sound that I made when I saw this book was incredibly emberassing. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited about The Brightsiders. I read Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde a couple of months back and I adored it, and the synopsis of this one sounds amazing so I can’t wait to dive into it!

DSC09203The next book I saw was Blanca Y Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore and this book has one of the most gorgeous covers I’ve ever seen. Now that I think of it, all of Anna-Marie McLemore’s books have amazing covers, and she’s 100% deserving of them because her writing is magical. I haven’t read a single book of hers that I didn’t love, so I can’t wait to fall in love with this one as well.

DSC09206To Be Honest by Maggie Ann Martin is a book I knew I had to read when I first laid my eyes on the cover, because there’s a woman on the cover who’s body kind of looks like mine, and that never happens. Ever. I have a feeling this isn’t going to be the most fun read because it deals with forced dieting, which is something that’s going to be hard to read about, but I also think that this book is going to deal with this topic very well, and that it’s going to be worth it.

DSC09219The last book in the package was Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson, and I was super excited about this book because I really enjoyed the Kiss of Deception series, which this is a companion to. But, funny story, I already don’t own this book anymore… I started it, and the first page featured ghosts, and it might sound childish but that’s something I cannot read about. They absolutely freak me out. As in, not being able to sleep freaked out. And I know I should put my mental health before my excitement for a book, so I send it over to another blogger friend who’s also really excited about the book. That way the book will still get read, and the ARC won’t go to waste!

I really wish I could dive into these titles right now, but my finals are starting in 11 days(!!) so I’m not allowing myself to read a lot. I! Need! To! Study! But they’ll definitely be a nice reward for when I’m done with studying.

Anway, I’m off to bed, but please tell me whether you’ve heard of these titles, and which one you’re most excited for!

Normally I don’t care so much about the ARC’s people are getting but since you’re from the Netherlands, the envy is being real right now, haha! 😛 Tell me your secrets! 😛

Hope you enjoy them! To Be Honest and The Brightsiders have been on my list for a while now; definitely looking forward to getting my hands on those eventually. 😀
