Hi everyone, I’m super excited to let you all know that the Mental Health Book Bingo is back! The Mental Health Book Bingo was created by Wendy @ whatthelog last year, and I’m super happy I’m allowed to be one of the hosts again this year because I had a lot of fun with it last time!
The Mental Health Book Bingo is a month long read-a-thon which will take place during the whole month of January. The goal is to read as many as many mental health books as you can, guided by the various prompts on the bingo sheet (which was created by CW @ artfromafriend). You can also try to get a bingo (read books in relation to all of the prompts in a single row) but you don’t have to!
You can use the hashtag #mhbb to share your progress and your thoughts on the books that you’re reading. We also have a Twitter and an Instagram account dedicated to the read-a-thon. We have quite a few really fun Twitter chats, reading sprints and Instagram challenges planned, so make sure you’re following us so you don’t miss out!
The hosts
- Wendy @ What the Log Had to Say
- Jess @ Kisses From Jess
- Lili @ Utopia State of Mind
- Ayah @ Dystopian Citzn
- Sar @ Reading to Recover
- Inge @ Of Wonderland
- Laura @ Green Tea & Paperbacks
My TBR
To be totally honest with you, I’m still not completely sure about my TBR. Both because I’m just coming out of a reading slump and I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to read during January, and because I know that reading a lot of mental health related books is not good for my own mental health. But, ideally, these are all of the books that I’d like to get to:
Under Rose-Tained Skies by Louise Gornall
Far From You by Tess Sharpe
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke
Are We All Lemmings & Snowflakes? by Holly Bourne
Soft on Soft by Em Ali
Little & Lion by Brandi Colbert
The Girl and the Grove by Eric Smith
No More Heroes by Michelle Kan
Shiny Broken Pieces by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton
I would also love to read some poetry, a graphic novel, a middle grade, and maybe even a sci-fi book, so I’m keeping my eyes open for those. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
I’m incredibly excited to be participating in this read-a-thon again, and I really hope you’ll be able to join us!
The Girl and the Grove and Soft on Soft were both good, and I don’t remember either of them being too heavy – Soft on Soft is particularly fluffy! So maybe you’ll have an easier time with those? I can’t comment on the others 😀

This challenge is amazing!!! I really wanted to take part, but I don’t know if I can… I don’t think I have enough MH-related books on my TBR (but I’ll work on getting more and reading more of these over 2019!!!) and I also have a ton of ARCs I need to read in January. But best of luck!!! I hope that I can take part in 2020!

This sounds like a great idea. I have no idea what choices I’d make (I’m reading this on my phone atm so maybe when I can enlarge it 😅), but there are a lot of ways to go!
Nice Try, Jane Sinner was a great book. I definitely need to get to Eliza’s Monsters, ever since I got it in a box.

UGHH, I really wish I could have joined this readathon, but January is exams month and I’ll probably not read anything. I love your TBR, however, I really liked Eliza and Her Monsters, though there were some things that felt off to me, I think the therapy aspect was very well done.
I’ll probably read Are We All Lemmings & Snowflakes? soon because I own it and I’ve heard great things about it!
Happy reading and I hope you get to read many, many books during this readathon! ❤

I'm so glad you've heard great things about Are We All Lemmings & Snowflakes? because I picked it up on a whim and don't really know too much about it, haha. And thank you, I really hope I'll manage to read a lot, too ❤
