Hi everyone! As you might know (and if you don’t then you really should because this is amazing) my lovely friend CW created a magical readathon called the Pondathon! There’s a whole backstory and a very thorough explanation of this readathon which you can all find on CW’s blog here, and I really encourage you to read up on it a bit and join too because it’s going to be so much fun! You can join a team, complete quests, create your own character… it’s truly is amazing and I’m in awe of CW and how she put this all together.
Anyway, in this post I’m going to be sharing my own character with you all, as well as the books I’m planning to read.
My character is an adorable little bee called Clover, Captain of the Clouds, and her title might have been inspired by digging through a fantasy name generator for a little bit, haha. It took me a little bit to find her name and title, but once I did it fit perfectly because 1) I love alliteration, and 2) it reminded me very much of a song called Captains of the Sky by Sky Sailing, which I immediately made Clover’s theme song.
I know bees can fly, but I can imagine her landing on a little piece of cloud and being able to direct its movements like a small aeroplane when she’s handing cups of tea and hot chocolate around, or whisking people out of the battle. She even has her own little hiding place in the clouds where she stores all of her books in case she needs to recharge for a little bit.
I decided to join team cuddle because I love buddy reading books, and I immediately went to Twitter to organize some buddy reads. I’m incredibly lucky to have found three friends who want to do buddy reads with me, and for books I’m very excited about as well!!
I’m going to be buddy reading Frankly in Love by David Yoon, Crier’s War by Nina Varela and Permanent Record with my friend Maé.
I’m going to buddy read Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberly & Austin Siegemund-Broka and Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett with Lili, Destiny’s Captive by Beverly Jenkins with Fadwa. I’m also hosting a read-a-long of the Sea of Ink and Gold series together with Lili and Fadwa so I’ll be reading The Speaker with both of them and a bunch more people as well.
Besides these I’m hoping to getting to some other books as well. Maybe some spontaneous buddy reads or spur-of-the-moment reads by myself, but nothing I’ve planned so far. Which might be good because a super filled schedule usually stressed me out quite a bit.
So yes, this is my TBR for the Pondathon and I’m incredibly excited about it. Just 2 more days and I can start reading, yay!

Good luck! I’m on team Varian, but I haven’t picked my TBR.
