Friday Finds: The One With The Middle Grade Books

As you guys probably know by now, I’m a sucker for MG books. There’s just something so magical about them, and I love the fact that it hardly has any romance in it, but the most amazing friendships.
I looked at my bookshelf a week ago, and I realized that I was in dire need of some new MG books. So, I went on a quest through the dangerous lands of Goodreads, and this is what I found;

Friday Finds: The One With The 2017 Releases

2016 is a pretty shitty year so far, and with everything going on the last couple of days I needed to cheer myself up a bit. The first thing that came to mind was book buying, but I noticed that none of the books on my wishlist excited me anymore. They still sounded good, and I still want to read them at some point, but I didn’t have that ‘OMG I want to buy them all and hold them in my hands and read them and love them!’ feeling anymore, so I went on a hunt for new books. And I found them. I found so many amazing looking 2017 releases with great synopses, and I wanted to share my 2017-releases-joy with you guys.
So here are the 2017 releases that I found and I’m super excited about. (Like seriously, I need to start saving so I can buy all these beauties.)

The One Where I Search For Birthday Books (Friday Finds)

So, as probably none of you know, my birthday is coming up. On the 10th of June I’ll be turning 19, which scares the crap out of me because I’ll almost be 20, and I always thought I’d have my life together at 20, which I clearly don’t. Anyway, because of this joyous occasion, I thought I’d dedicate this Friday Finds to my quest on searching books that I want for my birthday.

I know I know, why do I have to search for books to put on my wishlist, when my tbr on Goodreads is quite big already? Well, most of the books on my tbr-list are books that I want to get to someday but I don’t want them right now. Like, I’m interested in them, but not super duper ‘I want them RIGHT NOW’-interested. And I want to find books that I do want to read RIGHT NOW, and not books that will still sit on my shelf next year, waiting to be read.

Also, this Friday Finds will feature both new finds and books that I’ve been having my eye on for some time, but I thought it’d be fun to share them both! So here we go:

Books that I’ll put on my wishlist

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1)The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (Fairyland, #1)Story Thieves (Story Thieves, #1)Fablehaven (Fablehaven, #1)Highly Illogical BehaviorThis Shattered World (Starbound, #2)

Well, as you can see I have a very random assortment of books here. It was so hard to find even a few books, because everytime I’m not allowed to get books I have a big wishlist, and when I’m allowed to get books, I come up blank. So, if you have any suggestions for books I should get, please tell me!

Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and birds are chirping: summer is coming! With me, that naturally means that I’m starting to get really in the mood for contemporaries, and I’ve found some really pretty ones! Look at them! The synopses of each of these books sound really intrueging and I can’t wait to get my hands on them this season. Summer can’t come soon enough!

We’ve been having some beautiful weather here in The Netherlands for the past couple of days and that got me in the mood of reading more contemporary and romance books. And also, for some reason, some middle grade fantasy. Sadly I don’t own a lot of unread books from those genres, so I went looking for some! I immediatly ordered Garden Spells, since it was only 15 cents on the amazon market place, and I’m super excited to read it.

So I’m sitting here trying to write this while the windows are being replaced. They’ve been making so much noise since 8 o’clock in the morning (it’s now 12:30) and I might be going a bit crazy, especially since my dad just told me they won’t be done anytime soon. My head hurts so. Much.
Since I started participating in this meme I made sure to add all of the books that sound really interesting to me to my TBR-list on goodreads, and I love looking back at it at the end of the week and discovering what books I added. This week there were a lot of ‘who are you? have I ever seen you before?’ books. My memory is awful.
Anyway, they just stopped making a lot of noise so I’m going to grab a book and read. Have a great weekend!
(Right when I wrote that they started again. How nice.)

After reading The Siren by Kiera Cass I realized I want to read a lot more books about mermaids so I went on a search and found 2 that sounds really good! I also have some penpals who absolutely love books and one of them recommended Lois Lane fallout to me, and she made the book sound so good that I want to read it even though I know nothing about superheroes. Yes, sue me, I’ve never watched a superhero movie. I actually hardly ever watch movies since I have the attention span of a goldfish and get distracted way too easily, haha.
Oh well, here are my friday finds!

After a few weeks of not buying books I finally let myself order the illustrated edition of Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes and it’s gorgeous! Also, Stars Above came in the mail yesterday and I immediately started reading the epilogue and I cried and laughed and it was glorious. Anyway, here are my friday finds:

The Siren finally arrived this week and I already started reading it. I love it so far!
I’m so so so excited about the new Harry Potter book/script coming out so that’ll obviously be apart of my Friday Finds. I really hope the final cover will look better, though.
I’m really in the mood for some fantasy/dystopian books so you definitely see that reflected in this post. I might start In The Afterlight once I finish The Siren. We’ll see.
