Quiz: What Queer Comic Should You Read Next?

(For anyone who just wants to do the quiz and not read anything, you can find it here)

Hi everyone! I’ve never really been that into comics (unless you count the Donald Duck one’s I read as a kid) but I started getting into them when I first read Ms. Marvel about 2 years ago. For about a year, that was the only comic I read, until my friend Elin bought me a copy of the Lumberjanes for my birthday last year. After that, everything changed…

Okay, that was super cheesy. What I meant to say is that I started reading a lot of comics after that, and I absolutely fell in love with them. Especially with comics that have queer characters.

I know that not a lot of people in the general book community are very much into comics, but to try and get more people into them I thought I’d make a quiz named ‘what queer comic should you read next?’, a way for you to find your perfect queer comic read!

There are 12 different result options, and eight of them are comics I read and loved, and four of them are comics that I haven’t read yet, but I’ve heard amazing things about. I’ll add the covers and links to them so that you can check them all out, but first, the quiz!

Let’s be honest, I’m way too cheap to actually pay for a version of WordPress that allows you to use plug-ins that would fancily display the quiz here. But if you click here, you will be transported right to it! I hope you’ll enjoy it!

comics that others recommended to me

I’m not going to try to explain what it’s about because i haven’t read it yet and the goodreads synopsis would explain it a lot better.

Princess Princess Ever After by Katie O’Neill
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars by Michael Dante DiMartino and Irene Koh
America by Gabby Rivera and Joe Quinones

That’s it! I really hope you all like it because making that quiz took me quite a bit of time. Let me know your results in the comments!

AHHH I LOVE THIS!!!! I got The Backstagers which I read the first issue for and LOVED. I gotta catch up with the series!! Also, definitely going to add the ones I haven’t heard of before to my TBR especially Heavy Vinyl. I totally second the Princess Princess recommendation. It’s short but super sweet. Also, totally on board with advocating comics. More people need to get on board with them!!!!

I got Goldie Vance! I’m lucky because I actually got the first volume of a lot of these in a Humble Bundle a while ago for super cheap, so I’ll be able to try them and see if I like. 😀 I had no idea they were all queer, though. That’s awesome.

I think the Backstagers and Heavy Vinyl are two that I don’t have, but I’d love to.
